Kate Evans, ELS
Kate is a business development and strategic medical communications specialist with 13 years of experience in CME and non-CME education. Her background includes extensive work in medical
editing and writing; program design, development, and management;
faculty relations; and strategic business development.
Prior
to starting NovaMed Communications LLC, Kate was a VP
project/content/editorial director for a project team at PeerView
Institute for Medical Education that produced both online and print CME
programs. She was intimately involved in each step of the team's
projects from proposal through post-launch outcomes analysis.
Kate
is also a highly successful CME grant writer who established a new
department at PeerView Academic Network that provided medical
strategic support to a sales team of 10 consultants. By conducting
rigorous gap analyses and aligning identified educational needs with
pharmaceutical industry grant supporters, she developed program
concepts and content for grant requests that resulted in $20 million in
sales in 2005.
In
the course of her career, Kate has also worked as an editor for
research groups at UMDNJ and Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and as an
acquisitions editor for a peer-reviewed medical journal, giving
her a well-rounded perspective on the field of
medical education.
Since
starting NovaMed Communications in 2006, Kate has worked with a wide
variety of clients including medical communication companies,
biotech and pharmaceutical companies, and nonprofit organizations.
